WHAT IS ASAP?

ASAP Methodology:
It is methodology to implement SAP into an organization. It stands for accelerated SAP. A complete project broken down into 5 phases;


Phase I : Project Preparation
This stage of Implementation of SAP is to discuss and finalize following points;

a     - Project Scope, Goals and Objectives
 - Formation of Project team, Steering committee, Core business members
 - Assign resources & Plan budget
 - Prepare project schedule
 - Decide sequence of implementation etc

Phase II: Business Blue Print
          As Is Study: Study about the present business interfaces, practices, planning, process and scenarios.
      To Be study: Design the to be planning and execution of transactions in SAP
      GAP Analysis: Study about the gaps in business operations reference to be situations. Integrating points, interferences and process are finalized. Functional & technical specifications written down 
         Documentation of all above studies is known as business blue print

Phase III: Realization
Realization is the configuration and customization of the system according to the business blue print. It is done in two parts;
i.              Base line (Major scope) configuration
ii.            Final (Remaining scope) configuration
Then testing is carried out by the core team. Basis team moves all configurations to quality server. Upload sample master data to perform unit and integration testing by the testing team

Phase IV: Final Preparation
In this phase, you need to complete your all preparations including
I.              System testing, system migration (using LSMW, BAPI & BADI) & management
II.            End User Training
III.           Master data upload, WIP management and all other cutover activities
IV.          Also need to resolve all open issues
  
Phase V: Go Live and Support
In this phase you move from a pre- production environment to the live system (Production server)

e.    End User Training strategy, requirements signoff by customer

g.    Technical & functional design documents
h.    Install development system
i.      Business blue print documentation and phase completion signoff by customer
PPhase III deliverables:
a.    Master Data definitions
b.    Base line configuration and documentation
c.    Unit testing scripts, execution and results
d.    Final configuration and documentation
e.    Configure SAP user profiles and roles
f.     Unit testing for development objects
g.    Initial conversion (cut over) plan
h.    Draft of legacy retirement plan
i.      Approved End- user training strategy

4Phase IV deliverables:
a.    Perform system Tests: Execute stress, Volume, Disaster recovery and backup tests

5Phase III deliverables:
